Boyiong's Cafe

Walang komento
Went to Boyiong's cafe after an hour of 'nga nga' in our quiz. Plus, our next class was at 6pm and there was nothing to do. So, we went to a cafe, this cafe was in Dapitan street. This cafe had milkshakes, silog meals, and snacks like nachos. What made them different from other cafes was that they provide board games that are perfect for killing time.

Boyiong's menu

The place was nothing fancy but is really adorable.

Dreamcatchers! Those who know me know that I am very fond of dreamcatchers.

How the Boyiong's menu board looks like. The food was very affordable, the snacks cost 50-70 pesos only. Their milkshake was around 70 pesos, they even have a HawHaw flavor that they say only 90s kids know.

Went here with Keezhia, Eileen, and G. You can really see their personality from this picture. Eileen was the competitive girl who is very fond of board games, but mind you she's really good at it. Keezhia was the strategic one, look at how she looks at the game. G was the newbie, haha, but he was a fast learner he defeated me in monopoly, aww!

Our first game was Uno Stacks, we didn't really know how to play it, so we played it like the Jenga way. It was chaos when it fell down we had to catch every piece since we were playing it on a small table.

Winners: Keezhia, Kim, and Eileen
Loser: G

Next, we played monopoly for an hour. I was the third person to take a turn, and unfortunately, I always landed at income tax, owned properties, and a lot of things that need payment. Broke in real life, broke in monopoly. Life, please be fair.

My 3 properties, my token, and my 750 or so money.

Winner: Eileen, then Keezh, then G
Loser: Me :(

Last was wordplay, it was really hard! I've always played scrabble on my phone, but the real one is really different. No lucky guesses provided 2-word dictionaries or an auto shuffle. Keezhia was good at playing scrabble she got the high scores, Eileen likes to block our every move and every triple word score, sayang! G was really funny, he placed a peculiar word on the board and even gave its definition. We were so amazed but turns out he was looking at a dictionary, but we all were. That's how we got the words Xenia, moho, dater, azole, and G's winning word Cyme. What does that even mean?

Winner: Kim then Keezh then Eileen
Loser: G

This place is great for killing time and is really affordable. This was my first time going to a board games cafe, and I'd like to try more!

Day 3

This is what the girls' dorm looks like. Us, 5D girls stayed here with the 5C girls. Let's do the math, 15 girls, 2 shower rooms, 8:30am sessions. Had to wake up at 5/6 am just to take a shower and make it to the sessions, hassle!

The room where sessions were held

8:30 am session, but like what I've said 15 girls, 2 shower rooms, we made it at 9:30 or so.

After the session, we decided to have an adventure, climb up a hill and get to a church. Not really the best with cardio, I was frantically gasping for air when I reached the top!

We had to take pictures, we just hiked a hill!

One of the attractions of the place, the hanging bridge.

This wall is just perfect for blogger poses, we each had our share in this wall. First up is the photographer, Keezhia.

The artist, G.

The blogger, me.

Retreat letters! The D form is ours, section 5D. This is one of the highlights of the whole stay, being able to receive letters from friends, expressing their inner most feelings about you. It will just melt your heart!

We each had our own prayer warrior. Mine was my Embedded pillar, Gaymar Gaytano. He has to pray for me so I can pass the board exam.

I'm Eileen's prayer warrior. Regardless of whether I pray or not, for her, she'll pass the board exam. I know it, everyone does.

About to leave Caleruega

You'd really know if someone is from Manila. Look at how much pasalubong she bought, even if Batangas was only 2 hrs away, it was really funny.

This 3-day escape was one of the best and indeed much needed. It certainly brought us closer and open to one another. In the near future, I hope to come back to this place and reminisce every memory. I'd surely miss it.

Day 2

Woke up at 5:30 am just to take a bath, feels like highschool. I resent waking up early, but I had to. After taking a shower we went to the boys' dorm.

When we went into their dorm everybody was so groggy, turns out one of my classmates in the boys' dorm set a 5:00 am alarm, and wouldn't wake up. They said the alarm just went BANG BANG BANG. I think he set multiple alarms so even if they turned it off, another one would turn up in 5 minutes. It was really funny how everyone kept on complaining about it til' breakfast.

Here's one complaining about the alarm.

Here's another, still complaining about the alarm.

Our section was assigned as the breakfast server. I served bread and it was insane how everybody was picking up the bread with their bare hands. I have a tong and I'm a server let me do my work, people!

Breakfast was great we were in charge of our portions since we're the server

Exploring with my photographer

OOTD of the day

Mango tarts  and mango juice as A.M snack

Went to they boys' dorm to get some rest, have a chit chat and watch movies. It was a hot day, not much of exploration was done.

 Lunch Time!

The session, a lot of people were asleep. Even the ones in front of the priest. It was after lunch, tho.

Dinner Time!

Us girls had our kilay session that night, headed by Bona. She was cleaning and shaping up everybody's eyebrows.

Bonfire! This place was located at the foot of the hill.

Hosted solidarity night with Franco.

I have to say that solidarity night was one of the best. Every section cooperated and the games were loads of fun. I thought everybody would be KJ, but the opposite turned out. Everybody was competitive and it was such a great night that I fell fast asleep.

Caleruega, Batangas (pt. 1)

Every year, graduating students of UST go to a retreat house to experience a place of sanctuary, relax, and just let go. Last November 19-21 we went to Caleruega, Batangas to have ours. The place was just great, perfect to reflect upon, and have peace within thyself. I won't say that the retreat was life-changing, but I have to say that it was a real eye-opener. Everything that happened was splendid and fun! So if you're a nature lover and in need of a little adventure this would be the perfect place.

Call time was 10am, we boarded the bus around 11 and left at 11:30am. Here are my first-day pictures:

My classmate Gaymar took the retreat requirements seriously, he even bought a plastic envelope. Feels like the first day of Kindergarten!

Bus buddy! I could never get the window seat with this girl.

We had sessions or lectures in our retreat, this happens to be the first one.

4pm meryenda, I swore I'd take pictures of every meal, so people would know how the food is at Caleruega

OOTD of the day. It took me 'n' shots to get that right. I figured that if I was to take blogging seriously I need to learn how to pose and work it!

We had to make our personal seal(?) so I...actually my friend, G, did this. It's supposed to represent me, and it's a drawing of a hand that is writing because I love writing and blogging. At the bottom is the phrase Luctor et Emergo which is Latin for I struggle, I win. And at the top is my motto in life, Do what everybody else does and end up what everybody else has.

We had our reflection that night, we were supposed to share why our seal and life graph was what it is. I was the third one to share, and the mood was very light back then. Back in the session, the priest told us that it is only necessary to share what you're comfortable at. So I only said a 3-4 liner and laugh at the rest. After me, everybody shared their stories and their deepest thoughts. I regret that night, I wish I also shared my personal feelings and thoughts.

Dinner, I think the meal was okay, no complaints about it.

After dinner, we went to the boys' room to have a chit chat and play cards. The usual for college students.

Day 1: ❤❤❤❤/5
