Going to South Korea! (pt. 2)
This is the day 3, 4, and 5 of my South Korea Adventures! I'm also trying a photo app, which is Snapseed just to make the photos more alive in a sensible way; but still didn't tune my images, sorry to lazy for those things, maybe in the future when I take this blogging thing seriously.
Day 3
We went to Everland! As I've said this was my first time traveling internationally and I didn't know how lines go in these amusement parks. I was used to the Enchanted Kingdom weekday, no line days, but here was different. We'd have to wait 30mins to an hour just to get in a single ride. That is also how our Everland turned into an Everzoo. We spent more time with animals than riding the attractions.
Still, the experience was worth it 'cause we got to ride the steepest wooden roller coaster! I swear I didn't expect much, but the feeling of riding T express was beyond.
This is actually called Safari Tour, I just called it Everzoo since we spent most of the time seeing animals. Wasn't really thrilled seeing their condition though. Most lions and tigers were skinny and confined in a single space.
I tried searching what this is called, but couldn't really find it. Anyway, I get to ride one of these! Which I've only seen in movies and TV series.
Day 4
Day 4 was an educational tour day. The seminar was scheduled in the afternoon so we had little time to do a city tour again. This was the day we actually get to see a cherry blossom tree up close.
This was actually my favorite part of the trip, this seminar, it was so informative and I learned a lot. It was actually a 3,4,5? I couldn't even remember the number of hours the seminar was conducted and - oh look, the WiFi password is posted on the wall, yey! This is what I love most about Korea, WiFi service everywhere. You'd survive any 3,4,5 hour...oops. Fun fact, made my seatmate cry during the seminar HAHA! (I know you'd be reading this).
Day 5
Last day in Korea. Have to experience the soju, chicken, and beer nightlife. SoJu tasted like real alcohol, never ever drinking that again. It felt like I wanted to barf as soon as I drank it.
I think we were really on Bus 1, haha! Anyway, these were the folks I get to spend my bus trips with. I got 4 different seatmates of the 5 days we stayed there.
The residence we stayed at. Thankyou Western Co-Op residences even if I felt like I was gonna die from hypothermia and burns in your shower room.
And sadly, it was time to go. I don't know why but Incheon seems to be the coldest among the places I have been in Korea.
So long, someday I will go back to Korea. In the winter season, I hope.
Going to South Korea (pt.1)
Annyeong just got back from South Korea! It was actually my first time traveling out of the country and it has been nothing but amazing! Our educational trip lasted from April 4-8, 2017. And since we stayed there for 5 days, this will be divided into 2 posts. The first post containing the 1st and 2nd day, and the other post containing the lasts.
Plane Trip
You can greatly feel the cold breeze as soon as you step out of the plane. You'd surely understand the word layers and keep in mind that you should've listened when they said that leggings weren't enough. It was freezing cold, or is it just because I was used to the hot humid weather in the Philippines?
Their airport was world-class, well what can you expect from the number 1 airport.
Day 1
Day 1 was allotted for the City Tour. Korea's scenery wasn't far different from the Philippines. From anything I've noticed street shops looked like Divisoria. But a noticeable difference from the two would be that Korea was a clean and disciplined place. There was no dump, they had smoking areas and traffic was only observed at 6pm onwards. Korea has lots of palaces and their culture was well preserved, in fact, a lot of women were still wearing hanboks. There were also performers showing off their sword skills, and how they battled it out in the past.
Day 2
The second day was for the educational tour. We went to Seoul University to listen to a lecture about 5g, we also went to Samsung delight and Samsung innovation. This day was beyond expectations. Starting from the giveaway of Seoul University. We each received a green wrapped box and weren't really allowed to open until the end of the lecture. We were betting what it contains, we each had our bet of a small replica of the Seoul University and a calendar with a pen holder. But, lo and behold, it was a Bluetooth speaker! Who gives away Bluetooth speakers? Only they! Samsung delight was also fun giving us a glimpse of what Samsung technologies can do and venturing the world of virtual realities. Samsung innovation was surreal, it felt like I was Katniss and was traveling to Panem for the first time. Everything was futuristic! We got to physically see the evolution of technology, they had originals and real-life replicas of phones, TVs, vacuum tubes, diodes, and more!
Food
I thought Asian countries' staple food was rice, the boy was I wrong. If you're a rice lover you'd go hungry in South Korea. Most of them eat noodles and soup. And the rice was only a side dish. They also serve kimchi and radish with every meal, and they always put their utensils beside or in a table cabinet. I didn't enjoy some of their foods as it was too spicy or I didn't really like eating noodles for lunch, but it was good to try every delicacy.
