Dickinsons Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner Review
kaycee
Witch hazel has been a cult favorite. It has been incorporated in different acne-fighting treatments,
may it be a toner, cleanser, or even a moisturizer. I have been eyeing this ever since but I just couldn't
find the small version in Health Options, so when I had the extra money (I was a student back then) I immediately bought this from healthy options.
Price
89(59mL) , 250+ (273mL) , 379 (473mL)
Bought from Healthy Options
Main ingredients
All-natural distilled witch hazel, containing natural grain alcohol 14% and witch hazel extract
If you're wondering, how does this make it a good toner when it contains alcohol?
According to an Amazon Q&A " It does not contain synthetic isopropyl alcohol;
but it does include 14% natural grain alcohol.....which is naturally produced during
the fermentation process of grains. If you have highly sensitive areas on your face,
use it every other day, because if you are sensitive to either ingredient you
will be able to manage the reaction better. "
Claims
- Tones pores
- Removes and balances oil
- Soothes and refreshes
- Helps depuff
How to use
Use daily after cleansing or before applying skin treatments. Moisten a cotton ball or pad and apply to face and neck. For best results, use in the morning and night for naturally soft and beautiful skin.

Dislikes
- Acne comes back if you stop using it, so it wasn't a cure at all
- Will not control your breakouts all alone
- Funky smell; Smells like a mixture of wood, plant, and alcohol, but tolerable.

The first time I used it I didn't love it. It felt like water and I wasn't sure if it even contributed to helping my breakouts. But as time passes by I saw that my left cheek was getting clearer day by day, so I guess asides from the other products that I have been using it helped control my breakout. And when I decided to stop this toner, my pores were clogged immediately. So it was a really helpful product, though you still have to incorporate it with other acne-fighting treatments.
Update 2018:
I decided to use this again as I was having uncontrollable breakouts once again.I used this for 2 weeks this time. Unfortunately, it gave me a lot of clogged pores. So I will not be touching this product again. Would I recommend this product? I guess it's for you to try. But if you don't have sensitive skin, then I say go for it!
So here are my thoughts about this product. I hope I helped you with my reviews.

Human Nature Lip Scrub in Peppermint Review
kaycee
I have a problem. My lips have been cracking up, and I have tried everything I can to solve this problem. I tried researching and found out that in order to have healthy lips you have to exfoliate at least once a week.
According to nuggbeauty.com
"Exfoliation is an important part of lip care, simply because your lips don’t have sebaceous glands to keep them moisturized. The sebum secreted by sebaceous glands all over your skin and scalp is what keeps them hydrated and nourished; your lips, on the other hand, have no means to keep them moisturized. Plus, since your lips are covered by a very thin layer of skin, it loses moisture fast. Hence, it is wise to keep a lip balm handy at all times."
So this is necessary for the lip balm to moisturize lips effectively. I chose to buy this lip balm because this is one of the affordable and natural scrubs available.

Brought it at Beauty bar in Eastwood Mall
Available at Beauty bar, BeautyMNL, human nature is also carried out at selected Robinsons supermarket
Main ingredients
Sacharrum officinarum (sugarcane) extract, Helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, Cera alba (beeswax), caprylic/capric triglyceride (vegetable-derived), Mentha piperita (peppermint) leaf essential oil, Mentha arvensis (corn mint) leaf essential oil, aqua (water), gluconic acid (plant-derived), sodium benzoate (plant-derived), tocopherol (Vitamin E)
Claims
A natural exfoliant that smoothens and softens lips. Sloughs off dead skin cells with fair trade sugar crystals from Negros; imparts and locks in moisture with sunflower oil, jojoba oil, and beeswax; gives a cooling, tingling sensation after use
How to use
Exfoliate your lips only 1-2x a week. My own preference is to put on the product while my lips are dry. The product runs down when I put it on wet lips, and it turns into waste.

3 months (weekly)

I know some may think that this is a waste of money since there are a lot of DIY lip scrubs you can do. I actually tried making my own with honey, sugar, and water, but what I couldn't get right was the consistency and I couldn't get the feeling of rubbing the chapped or dead skin cells since it was so runny.I think human nature lip scrub was perfect it has great packaging, great consistency, very solid, and I love the minty feeling afterward.
So here are my thoughts about this product. I hope I helped you with my reviews.

Cleopatra has so many good reviews about this product. You can see a lot of before and after pictures on their Instagram, showing much improvement after only a few uses. This can also be considered as one of their prime product. A good friend recommended this to me claiming that this solved her problems regarding acne marks. It is also 100% vegan and has no preservatives. So I had to try this.

I recommend this if you're not acne-prone or you've had good encounters with mud masks. It's a real good product, unfortunately, it broke me out so much on my forehead. Though my cheeks remained clear after using this. I did see my acne marks lighten after a few uses.

I really love this product. I've been coming back to this everytime a new cleanser does not work out for me. What I really like is it makes me feel fresh, for me that's very rare considering I have an oily type skin. I recommend this product, I hope you try it too.

Making an effort to go zero waste!
kaycee
So this year since I already have the means to do it, I decided to seriously take my passion for living an eco friendly and greener life. I know, I know ...how it can be pricey to do it at first, but you get to save the environment one bit at a time, now isn't that worth it?
Starting off with my metal straws and bamboo toothbrush. I think my advocacy started when I saw those sea creatures getting harmed by plastics. It's when people don't throw their trash in the right place, I mean how hard is that?
My workmates and I bought this on Instagram at metalstrawph. Since we love buying milk teas during sweldo (yey, coco!), and that fast-food fave whenever we're too lazy to think of what to eat, it was a must to purchase those straws. Plus, I also like to start my day right with a good breakfast, usually, that breakfast consists of a bottled Vitamilk. And you all know how hard it is to drink in a bottle without a straw. I admit how it is a hassle to carry around a pouch full of straws, especially when you're forgetful or carry a small bag. So if I forget it what I do is I sip my drinks, if it's possible.
Next is my bamboo toothbrush. Its bristles are so soft. At first, I was afraid I might break the handle if I brush too hard. But since it's made from bamboo, I doubt it would break. I pair this with my organic Himalaya toothpaste. I have been using this for a month now and although I have braces the bristles are still intact. Good job with that.
I don't use a plastic spoon and fork. I have my utensils. I think it's a good thing when I still try to get those plastic utensils from fast foods, since I don't want it to fall in the wrong hands. You don't need special utensils, just get one from your home.
I also tried bringing my own container whenever I buy from the canteen. Instead of putting it in a plastic or giving it to me in a box, I give them my container. But my gosh, it's true that you need a lot of patience on this. They often roll their eyes or look at each other as if it is it was a crime when I gave them my container. But with patience and effort, I do try to understand them. Maybe it's because they don't know how much they have to put in, and of course, since hundreds of people buy in a canteen they already know the precise measurement of the viand they have to put if it is in a container they're used to using.
So how much did all of this cost?

* 1 colored regular

Bamboo toothbrush -75
See, for 300+ you get to do a part in saving the environment. Canvassing, I think metalstrawph has the most affordable price. You can also mix and match the colors of your straw, or get the bendy ones. They have lots of options to be exact (This is not sponsored btw).

Just some pictures for you guys to be aware of why I am pushing this advocacy (photos are not mine; google images). These creatures are only two of the millions that are affected by littering and the use of plastics.
So I hope I inspired you in my own little way. Throw your trash at the right place. Stop using plastics and together we'll help the environment one step at a time.
