Review: ACV + Conditioner
Today I am going to try the raved conditioner + ACV. I saw this Facebook post where the girl really had straight hair after use. It even looked like she ironed her hair. So I've decided to try it for myself and do an honest review of it.A brief back story. My hair was beautifully long and thick when I was a kid, then I started swimming. My hair then was always exposed to chlorine making it dry and brittle. I only had hair treatments on special occasions like graduations. Besides that, it was only the usual shampoo. When I was in college I started getting treatments every 6 months. My hair was chemically treated. It was always beautiful for the first three months, and after that, it would look all dry and damaged again. So now that I'm working I decided to start taking care of my hair and start using organic hair products.
So for this experiment, I have my ACV, shower cap, Aloe Vera conditioner, and mixing bowl.
I am going to test the effectivity of this ACV + conditioner. The mixture is composed of 2 teaspoons of ACV and a few pumps of my conditioner until it looked like the right mix. I then proceed to put it on my hair using my hands, I tried to use a brush but it would take forever since my hair was so thick. After that, I waited for 30 mins and then I washed my hair. Since this is ACV it really did reek!
So this is mine before and after photos. I only used Aloe Vera conditioner in my before photo. Aloe Vera + ACV in my after. And I wanted to include an after 1-day photo because this is a hair mask, which should be done once to twice a week. We don't want a hair mask that only takes effect on the same day use. For the after 1 day I used my Gugo shampoo.
Comparing the three pictures, my hair didn't miraculously straighten like those salon pictures or the one I saw in Facebook. But it did soften my hair, and it was less wavy, unlike the before picture. What I couldn't stand though was the smell! It's still here after shampooing my hair.
So is this worth repeating? Well, it did straighten my hair a bit, but I don't want to smell like vinegar for days. It reeks especially when you're all sweaty. So I guess not. But It's worth a try if you already have the ingredients at home.
